Sprinter | Years 2014–2018

This guide explains the step-by-step installation process for Sprinter 2014–2018 (Aftermarket Radio) using the OBD module. You’ll run a two-step procedure by selecting scripts on the radio screen, learn what the on-screen messages mean, and know when to send the LOGFILE if the install is interrupted.

SCR AdBlue/ DEF Delete & Package Deal

This guide explains the step-by-step installation process for Sprinter 2010–2018 using the OBD module. You’ll follow a two-step sequence with the correct microSD cards, learn how to interpret the LED indicator, and understand what to do if the “Remaining Starts” message does not clear.

Before Starting the Installation

Prior to beginning the module installation, it is highly recommended that you carefully read through these instructions multiple times. Doing so will ensure a thorough understanding of the process and help you avoid any unnecessary mistakes.

Package Contents

Your package includes the following items:
  • One module with the “Step1: Reset” microSD card already inserted
  • A separate bag containing a microSD card labeled “S1Full” or “S1Semi” or “NoSCR”
TIP Do not mix up the microSD cards. Always return each card to its respective plastic bag after use.

Preparing Your Vehicle for Installation

Before proceeding with the module installation, you must complete the following REQUIRED steps:

Fill DEF to 100%. If your tank is around 70–90%, top it off to full. Do not overfill to the neck. If it’s overfilled, the ultrasonic level sensor can read incorrectly.

IMPORTANT! Fully charge the vehicle’s battery. If possible, run the engine for 30 minutes.

If your vehicle cannot start due to a DEF/AdBlue block, use a 40A battery charger connected for at least 1 hour. For smaller chargers (3–5 amps), charging for 24 hours will be necessary. Please follow your Battery Charger’s instructions for proper use.

NOTE Do not proceed with software installation unless this step has been completed. Afterward, you may begin the module installation.

Installation Process

You will need to insert the module into the OBD2 port two times, using each microSD card in the correct sequence.

The module has a small opening with an LED indicator. After plugging the module into the OBD2 port, the LED will light up green and begin blinking.

You must monitor the LED during this process. Once the LED stops blinking (which can take 2–4 minutes, depending on the microSD card), the script installation will be complete. You can then remove the module and proceed with the next step.

LED Indicator Statuses

  • Slow blink (once per second) = the module is functioning, this process will take 1–8 minutes = DO NOT REMOVE THE MODULE.
  • Rapid blink (3 times per second) = the update is in progress, it takes approximately 7 seconds = DO NOT REMOVE THE MODULE.
  • Two blinks followed by a pause = incompatible files on the microSD card = remove the module and send us the LOGFILE.
  • Three slow blinks followed by a pause = microSD card not detected = remove the module, check if the microSD card is properly seated, or send us the LOGFILE.
  • Three fast blinks followed by a pause = an error occurred during the script execution = remove the module and send us the LOGFILE.
  • Four slow blinks = the module cannot retrieve vehicle information (either the ignition is OFF or the battery is drained).

If the LED flashes twice or three times and does not stop, the installation was unsuccessful. Remove the module and send the LOGFILE.LOG stored on the microSD card. You will need a computer and SD card reader to access the file. You can send it via email, WhatsApp, or another method.

How to properly turn on your vehicle’s ignition

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Wait 30 seconds for the vehicle modules to wake up and initialize after ignition ON.
  3. Insert the module with the “Step1: Reset” microSD card into the OBD2 port.
  4. Monitor the LED and wait for it to stop blinking (this process takes 2–4 minutes).
  5. Remove the module from the OBD2 port once the LED stops blinking.
  6. Start the engine to confirm if the “Remaining Starts” error has been cleared. If the error persists, repeat “Step1: Reset” installation 1–3 more times. If the error is cleared, continue to the next step. Otherwise, send us the LOGFILE and do not proceed further.
  7. Run the engine for 3 minutes to recharge the battery.
  8. Replace the microSD card in the module with “Step2: S1Full”.
  9. Turn off the engine, then turn on the ignition again.
  10. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  11. Insert the module with the “Step2: S1Full” | “S1Semi” | “NoSCR” microSD card into the OBD2 port.
  12. Monitor the LED and wait for it to stop blinking (this process takes 3–5 minutes).
  13. Once the LED stops blinking, remove the module from the OBD2 port.

Completing the Installation

The module installation is now complete. Start the engine. If the Check Engine light appears on the dashboard, this is normal. To resolve this issue, disable the SCR block.
