Life After Installation

This article explains what changes in your vehicle after installation and what to do if a warning appears for a system that was already disabled in software. It also covers how to roll back to the factory setup when needed.

Once the installation is done, the best part is that you can stop thinking about the constant warnings, countdowns, and “what if it comes back” scenarios. This page explains what’s changed in your vehicle, what to do if something unexpected shows up later, and how to safely restore the factory setup when needed.

What changes after installation

Depending on the solution you selected, certain emissions-system control logic is disabled/modified so those systems do not trigger limitation scenarios (warnings, limp/derate behavior, start-countdown events, etc.).

If, later during normal operation, you see faults related to emissions systems that were already removed in software, please let us know.

What to do in that case:

  • When the fault is active (you have a warning on the dash or your diagnostic tool shows a fault related to a “deleted” system), plug in the OBD module and run the AdBlue (DEF) Counter Reset step.
  • Then send us your LOGFILE and a brief description of the issue (what appeared, when it happened, under what conditions, etc.).

Restoring factory settings (rollback)

All solutions include the option to restore the factory (stock) calibration using the module. We include this primarily as a tool to resolve certain edge cases during installation.

In practice, most customers do not need to restore stock before visiting a dealer or before an emissions test:

  • for routine dealer service/repairs, they typically won’t notice any changes—you can usually go without reinstalling stock;
  • for emissions testing, they typically won’t notice any changes—you can usually go without reinstalling stock.

Why: with our calibrations, diagnostic monitors are typically in a Ready status, which looks like a normally functioning OBD readiness state.

You may restore the factory calibration for personal reasons, but please understand:

We do not guarantee that all emissions systems will behave normally after returning to stock—if a system was already borderline or had a hidden fault, it may show up again in stock mode.

IMPORTANT NOTE If you selected DPF Delete and the DPF/SCR hardware has been physically removed, the vehicle may be not drivable in factory mode, because the stock calibration is designed for the OEM exhaust configuration.
