The process is similar to the installation:
After that, the ECU will be back to factory configuration.
If you delete only the DEF/SCR system:
If you choose the Package Deal with DPF delete:
After the tune is installed, the DEF/SCR system monitoring is disabled, so the vehicle will not track the AdBlue level and will not trigger warnings or countdowns.
However, if the system remains physically installed and functional, you may still continue adding AdBlue if you wish, but it is no longer necessary for the vehicle to operate normally.
You may leave the DEF in the tank, and the vehicle will continue to use it until it runs out. Once it is empty, no warnings or errors will appear.
If you prefer, you can also drain the tank, but this is not required. Both options are acceptable.
If you select the Package Deal with active DPF or SCR/DEF delete:
If you choose the Package Deal with DPF delete option:
However, the software is VIN-specific, so each vehicle requires its own software package. This ensures the correct calibration for the ECU version installed in that vehicle.
You can reuse the same OBD device, but you will need a separate software package for each VIN. You can find more information about pricing on the dealer page.
The SCR catalyst itself does not produce soot. Its only function is to reduce NOx using AdBlue. Without AdBlue injection, the catalyst simply becomes inactive, but it does not clog.
Our software includes a mild ECU optimization that increases power and torque while maintaining safe operating parameters for the engine and transmission.
The goal is better drivability and stronger torque, especially at lower RPM, rather than aggressive performance tuning.
The software keeps the fuel and air mixture properly calibrated, so combustion remains clean and controlled.
If the DPF remains active, the exhaust will behave essentially the same as a factory vehicle.
Visible smoke is usually related to mechanical issues (injectors, turbo, air leaks, etc.), not the software itself.
The software disables the DEF/SCR monitoring and fault logic, so the vehicle will not track fluid level, trigger warnings, or activate a countdown.
If DEF remains in the tank, the system may continue using it until it runs out. Once empty, the vehicle will continue operating normally without refilling.
With our software installed:
Because of this, most vehicles pass OBD emissions inspections without restoring factory software.
Important for tests using exhaust sensors: the emissions components (EGR, DEF, DPF, etc.) remain physically installed, so the system can continue operating if it is still functional.
If you ever prefer to be extra cautious, you can restore the factory ECU software using the same OBD module 500 miles before the inspection. The process only takes a few minutes. In this case, it is important that all exhaust systems are in good working order and free of faults.
With our software installed:
From the diagnostic tool perspective, the system behaves like a normal vehicle without active faults.
If you ever prefer to be extra cautious before visiting a dealer, you can always restore the factory ECU software using the same OBD module. The process takes only a few minutes. In this case, it is important that all exhaust systems are in good working order and free of faults.
What we guarantee:
If something does not work as expected, we analyze the installation LOGFILE and guide you step-by-step until the installation is completed.
If diagnostics confirm that:
then a refund is issued.
In practice, the large majority of installations complete successfully, but we stay involved and provide support until the process is finished.
We ship the device as a diagnostic tool, and thousands of customers in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe receive their orders without issues.
Sometimes customs may charge a small import duty or processing fee, depending on your country’s regulations. If that happens, the courier (FedEx/DHL) will contact you directly.
The package itself is small and typically clears customs quickly.
