Buying an OBDTune module isn’t just about the software — it’s about having a clear safety net if something doesn’t go perfectly on the first try. This page explains what we guarantee, what we can and can’t influence remotely, and when a module replacement applies.

What we guarantee

We guarantee:

  • the correct solution and software selection for your vehicle;
  • remote diagnostics and guidance if the installation doesn’t succeed on the first attempt;
  • module functionality (if the module is faulty, we will replace it).
IMPORTANT! Sometimes installation may not succeed on the first try. The most common reasons are missed/incorrect steps or the vehicle’s configuration/technical condition (for example: engine or ECU was replaced, the ECU has non-dealer software not installed by a Daimler dealer, wiring issues, or control modules that must communicate and code properly).

In most cases, this is resolved through remote diagnostics and by following our recommendations after we review your data.

Module replacement (if the device is faulty)

If diagnostics confirm the module is faulty:

  • We will send a replacement free of charge;
  • We will provide guidance on what to do next so you can continue the installation.

Important to understand

We are responsible for software selection, module functionality, and supporting the installation process.

Software cannot “fix” a vehicle if there is a mechanical or electrical fault preventing the system from operating correctly.

If there are emissions-system-related faults (for example: stuck EGR/EKAS components, no communication with the SCR control unit, wiring shorts/damage, etc.), those issues may need to be repaired to complete installation successfully and to operate the vehicle reliably.

If there are faults not related to emissions systems (MAF, EGT, O2, turbo boost issues, fuel system issues, etc.), the software will not make the vehicle “run normally” — those problems also require repair.

If the vehicle has a non-standard configuration (engine/module swaps, wiring modifications, third-party tuning, etc.), additional verification may be required and support may take more time to coordinate the next steps.
