This guide explains the complete OBD module installation process for sedans & SUVs 2007–2008, from basic prep to running the correct script step by step. It also breaks down the LED indicator patterns, what to do if the process doesn’t finish properly, and when to send the LOGFILE so support can diagnose the issue fast.
This guide explains how to use the OBD module on the 2007–2008 Mercedes-Benz ML320 and GL320 with the 3.0L OM642 engine.
These early W164 ML320 and X164 GL320 models do not have the DEF system, so the installation requires only the one-step module procedure.
Please follow the steps carefully and use the correct microSD card sequence.

The Factory microSD card should only be used if we instruct you to restart the installation from the beginning. Do not use the Factory card unless we specifically advise you to do so.
Turn the ignition ON, but do not start the engine.
To turn the ignition ON:
Do not start the engine during the OBD module procedure.
The OBD module has a small LED indicator.
After plugging the module into the OBD2 port, the LED will turn on and start blinking.
You must watch the LED during the procedure.
Do not remove the module while the LED is blinking normally.

Turn the ignition ON, but do not start the engine.
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the second position.
The dashboard should turn on and all warning lights should appear.
After turning the ignition ON, wait about 30 seconds.
This allows the vehicle control modules to wake up fully before the installation begins.
Plug the OBD module into the OBD2 port under the dashboard.
Press the module firmly into the port to make sure it has good contact.
Watch the LED on the OBD module.
The module is working while the LED is blinking normally.
Do not remove the module during this process.
The installation usually takes 3–5 minutes, but in some cases it may take longer.
When the LED stops blinking or turns off, the installation is complete.
Remove the OBD module from the OBD2 port.
Start the engine and check the dashboard.
The OBD module installation is now complete.
