A diesel van can show emissions-related warnings when the exhaust fluid system needs attention. For a 2019 Sprinter DEF injector question, the first step is to separate the fluid, the injector and the dashboard message. The 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 use diesel exhaust fluid, often called DEF or AdBlue, to support emissions control. This fluid is not fuel; it is an emissions fluid stored in a separate tank. The exhaust fluid DEF injector meters that fluid into the exhaust stream, and an AdBlue injector or fluid injector is another way owners describe the same part.
The fluid injector uses a nozzle to spray diesel exhaust fluid into the exhaust flow. The diesel exhaust fluid system commands each injection event, and the injector must seal and atomize correctly. On a V6 diesel, the part may be listed under several names, including fluid def AdBlue, DEF injector or AdBlue injector. Brand, OEM number and connector type matter because a part that fits another van may not fit a 2019 Sprinter. A parts store may show a Dodge listing, but Dodge-branded Sprinters are earlier models; the 2019 van is a Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner product. Physical accessories such as a new nozzle, seal or mounting kit are separate from an OBDtune software tool.
A failing DEF injector can trigger warnings, but a warning alone does not prove the injector failed. Depending on the fault, a scan tool may report a circuit code, a performance code or a message about the emissions fluid. Inspect the injector area for leaks, crystallization around the nozzle or damaged wiring. Confirm that the diesel exhaust fluid level is adequate, but remember that a low fluid level, a fluid quality issue and an injector fault are different problems. A refill or reset does not necessarily clear a warning, and a fluid level concern can affect starting restrictions on some vehicles. Diagnosis should confirm the cause before parts are replaced.
OBDtune provides a hand-held OBD kit for Mercedes-Benz diesel vehicles. The tool connects to the OBD port, then the user selects a supported script on the COMAND or media screen. If the vehicle has no audio screen, script selection can be done with microSD cards. After the process completes, the tool is disconnected. The OBDtune solution can help remove dashboard errors and limitations linked to AdBlue or DEF. It does not repair a clogged or failed injector, and error suppression does not make a faulty part healthy or establish that driving is safe. If the injector is physically defective, repair or replacement may still be required. Compatibility depends on the specific vehicle and script, so no universal fit should be assumed. Public-road use is the owner’s responsibility and subject to local rules.
A DEF injector fault may be electrical, mechanical or fluid-related. A scan tool can show a code, but the code is a starting point, not proof that the injector itself failed. Test the circuit, inspect the nozzle and verify diesel exhaust fluid quality before replacing parts. Crystallization, contamination or a damaged seal can affect spray quality, while an electrical fault can stop injection even when the injector is clean. Repair may require a new OEM nozzle or injector. Do not assume that a dashboard reset restores the system to normal operation or that the vehicle is safe to drive without repair.
DEF is a diesel exhaust fluid, not a fuel additive or a general-purpose cleaner. Its level and quality matter, but they are separate from the condition of the fluid injector. A low level, contaminated fluid or a failed injector can each produce warnings. On some vehicles, an emissions fluid fault may lead to a countdown, a speed limitation or a no-start condition. The exact response depends on the model and configuration. A refill or counter reset may clear a temporary limitation, but it does not repair a blocked nozzle or a failed injector. If a warning persists, diagnose the cause instead of assuming the fluid alone is responsible.
Before ordering, identify the exact vehicle: 2019 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 or Freightliner Sprinter 2500, engine type and emissions label. A V6 diesel may use a specific injector or nozzle, and an OEM part number is more reliable than a generic listing. The OBDtune store focuses on the hand-held OBD kit, not on replacement injectors, nozzles or accessories. Do not use a Dodge-branded listing as proof of fit for a 2019 Sprinter. If the goal is to address dashboard messages, check the OBDtune script list first. If the goal is to repair a failed injector, a qualified technician should test the part and the related circuit.
SCR total delete – no longer necessary to repair the SCR system and refill the AdBlue fluid
Removes Check Engine error
Removes 0 Remaining Starts error
Removes Starts idle error
Removes Check AdBlue error
Ability to roll back to factory settings

Easy pass emissions test ability
We suggest deleting all of the following components together (SCR, EGR, Flaps and DPF) as all of these elements work together as one system
Disables SCR (DEF) system on equipped vehicles
Disables Swirl Flaps in the intake manifold
Optionally disables Diesel Particulate Filter
Disables EGR valve
Ability to roll back to factory settings
